Ariel Sobelman, Valens

HDBaseT Alliance President

Ariel Sobelman is the President of the HDBaseT Alliance and serves on the HDBaseT Alliance Board of Directors, representing Valens.

With 12 years of high level business development, industry standardization and strategic research experience, Ariel Sobelman serves as Valens’ Vice President of Corporate Alliances, leading the standardization process for HDBaseT technology.

Before joining Valens, Ariel was with SanDisk, where he was general manager of the corporate liaison office to Microsoft in Redmond, Wash., managing the relationship (executive, political, technical) work taking place between the two companies. Prior to SanDisk’s acquisition of M-Systems, Sobelman was vice president in the CTO’s office, where he was responsible for all industry standards activities. He also held responsibility for standardization of embedded cryptographic modules in mobile phones while part of the research group at Discretix Technologies, Israel.

Ariel is a founding chair of IEEE 1667 Transient Storage Device Authentication working group.

Masaki Nakayama, Sony Pictures Entertainment

HDBaseT Alliance Director

Masaki Nakayama represents Sony Pictures Entertainment on the HDBaseT Alliance Board of Directors. As an entertainment technology professional and registered CA/HI attorney with 17 years of global experience with Sony, Masaki specializes in the development of new technologies and alliances in consumer electronics and digital media. He has extensive knowledge of consumer and professional equipment and workflows for film/TV production, postproduction, and digital content delivery to the theater and home.

Masaki is an expert in global project management and intercultural communication in multiple languages. He has a BCs in international conflict resolution from Keio University in Tokyo and JDs from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.

HyeonJae (HJ) Lee, LG Electronics

HDBaseT Alliance Director

Mr. Lee has served as W3C Web and TV Interest Group Chair since 2010 and as an LG Electronics representative. He has also represented LG in RVU and Open IPTV Forum in 2010-2011. Additionally, Mr. Lee has participated in ATIS, ATSC and DVC as an LG representative from 2009-2010.

Mr. Lee is a founder of Open IPTV Forum and was involved as a Samsung Electronics representative in CEA, DLNA, UPnP and ATSC from 2005-2007.

JE Elena Shin, Samsung Electronics

HDBaseT Alliance Director

JE Elena Shin represents Samsung on the HDBaseT Alliance Board of Directors. She brings more than 10 years’ experience at Samsung. With a background in TV software engineering, Elena is now responsible for connectivity standardization for Samsung TV and signage products.

Elena is in charge of HDMI, Super-MHL and RVU standards. In addition, she is also in charge of broadcast and operator standardization in the EU and CIS.

Dana Milner

HDBaseT Alliance Legal Counsel

Dana Milner is the HDBaseT Alliance’s General Legal Counsel. Dana is an expert corporate counsel, with extensive global experience with leading technology companies and growing start-ups on various local and international markets. Dana’s professional background includes serving as legal counsel to Amdocs for a period of ten years, both as in-house legal counsel and as an external lawyer.

Earlier, Dana worked as a corporate associate at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, a large top-tier New York law firm, as part of the private equity and VC team, advising sponsors and various institutional and individual investors on private equity investments and activities. Dana is a member of the Israeli Bar since 1996 and holds an LL.B degree from Tel Aviv University and an LL.M degree in Banking, Corporate and Finance Law from Fordham University School of Law, New York.

Tzahi Madgar

HDBaseT Alliance Director of Business Development & Secretary of the Board

As Director of Business Development and Secretary of the Board at the HDBaseT Alliance, Tzahi brings with him Over 10 years of experience in the Audio/Video industry. In his current role, he is responsible for introducing HDBaseT technology to new markets and establishing relations with similar organizations with complementary technologies.

Prior to the joining the HDBaseT Alliance, Tzahi worked at AGT, a homeland security company specializing in video surveillance, and LiveU, a world leader cellular video broadcasting solutions company. Tzahi holds a BA in Economics, an LL.B. and an MBA degree from Tel-Aviv University, in Israel.
