HDBaseT was developed to work with the most basic LAN infrastructure. Although HDBaseT will work with most cables, the Alliance has two programs to promote the best performance possible for your installation.

HDBaseT Recommended Cable Program

HDBaseT Recommended Cables are cables that have been tested in an Alliance Recognized Testing facility, and have met the requirements set by the HDBaseT Alliance. The goal of the Alliance with the Recommended Cables Program is to assist installers, integrators and consumers in selecting LAN cables that meet the current Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) requirements, and as such provide optimal performance with HDBaseT devices.
The Certification Program for Power over HDBaseT (PoH) Cables tests and validates cables to guarantee they meet the highest industry performance and safety standards. With increasingly complex audiovisual installations and the proliferation of power over HDBaseT (PoH) equipment, the Certification Program for PoH Cables offers standardization and consistency to guarantee high performance, regardless of cable bundles.

HDBaseT Alliance has partnered with UL LLC, an HDBaseT Alliance recognized cable testing facility and global safety science company, to test HDBaseT recommended cables for performance in bundles and for adherence to safety requirements in the transmission of 100W of power. UL will also perform the necessary audit processes in the cable manufacturing plants to ensure proper compliance.

All PoH certified cables will receive the UL certification Mark.

In order to qualify for the program, the cable is required to be an HDBaseT Recommended Cable.
