Continuing a long-standing relationship spanning more than 18 years and over 115 learning spaces across campus, the University of Washington Tacoma selected Extron AV technologies for Milgard Hall, the institution’s latest academic building.
Designed to promote collaboration, engagement, and active learning, the 55,000-square-foot facility includes classrooms, laboratories, breakout rooms, meeting spaces, and a 120-seat High Impact Practices (HIPS) seminar venue. To support these diverse environments, the university deployed a comprehensive Extron AV ecosystem encompassing switching, transmission, audio processing, streaming, control, and room management technologies.
The project builds on nearly two decades of successful AV standardization across the Tacoma campus. By integrating HDBaseT-enabled Extron DTP technologies throughout Milgard Hall, the university extended its proven approach to signal distribution and system integration while maintaining a consistent user experience for faculty, students, and support staff.
Today, Extron’s HDBaseT-enabled infrastructure helps support teaching, collaboration, and communication throughout the building’s learning and meeting spaces, reinforcing the university’s continued investment in reliable, scalable AV technology.
